I too found that I was facing life changing colon issues that required extensive surgery!

I had already started eating healthy by eating fresh fruits, veggies, grilling meats, etc. But, evidently it was a little late for my body. I know that my father had severe colitis and diverticulitis but, to me at the time, that was just words...knowing he had severe intestinal pain and terrible bouts of issues.

Now, I knew what he was going thru! I was abscessed and had to have surgery. Now after 5 months, at least they could do the reversal...right? Well, partially. They found so much more damage and scar tissue after the first healing bout that it was necessary to remove an ovary and tube and clean up other damage. So now, instead of a colostomy, I was given an illiostomy to allow the reconnection to heal. Seems the problems are never ending.

I, like you, have been sitting here at home, pondering my fate while waiting to go back to work. Will the next surgery work? Will I be able to "function" normally after the next surgery? Who knows?

I know, like you said, heredity plays a role...but, the total lack of thought on nutrition had a large impact! Scared healthy...yes! Hopefully all who read your blog will double-think what they are doing to their bodies every day! Act before it's too late!THoovernoreply@blogger.com
